English bird artist born in East Anglia where he lived all his life. He painted the birds of Norfolk in watercolours. His work was exhibited at the Tryon and Morland Galleries where its freshness, accuracy and feeling for the character of the birds he painted were always appreciated and acknowledged. He also painted in the Scottish countryside. He illustrated volume 27, 1967, The Saturday Book with a frontispiece of a ringed plover with young and nine other plates.
