Although brought up in Warwickshire, He would spend his school holidays on his uncle's farm in Leicestershire learning about nature and the countryside - drawing and painting at every opportunity. In these early years He wanted to train as an architect but his love of the countryside led him to take up painting. Five years training at Winchester and Southampton University, where he obtained a Degree, set him on the road to a career in art.
For some 20 years He taught art, painting and exhibiting when he could. He finally decided to take the plunge and become a full-time artist. His first exhibition as a professional painter was at the CLA Game Fair at Stowe, He had developed a particular interest in game birds and this was an obvious place to start. The modest success of this exhibition gave me the determination to continue as a sporting and wildlife painter.
